I'll be down in mid-Oct. and a Gotcha lure works well in Perdido Pass for Spanish. Shrimp on a Pompano rig if you want to catch some nasty cats.

I went around that time last year. The pier was covered up in sharks. You know, the past two Fall trips we've been down (two years ago to Gulf Shores and last year to Panama City), the sharks have been unbearable. The fishing was "enjoyable" (5 out of 10 I'd say), but EVERY dang fish you got on, you better be horsin' that rascal out of the water or it gets eaten.
We were on the edge of Eternia, when the power of Greyskull began to take hold.

Bring a cast net and a cooler, go to the lagoon pass and 2 throws will get you a cooler full of mullet. They are thick down there right now. Can't remember what the limit is.

Buy a sabiki rig or two with the small jigs on them and catch you some alewives for live bait,,, ones about four inches long are perfect,,,,,,, the speckled trout love em , Blue fish and Red fish too. We always do best fishing at night. shrimp catch the white trout, ground mullet, croakers. pompano too. I use a number five stainless kahle hook what I call a suicide hook.. on the alewives... float them on a cork,,, shrimp use a pompano rig of a red fish leader .
