The best cheap stuff I've ever had was arctic sheild. With a good merino base layer and decent fleece mid layers paired with an arctic sheild parka and bibs you can stay comfortable down in the teens as long as you've got good socks and boots.

I have the Cabela's wooltimate pants and jacket. the issue is I can only wear them if the high is in the 20s or below. they are really too warm otherwise for me but I'm pretty comfortable in cold temps. so that being said, they probably suck if it is raining, but as mentioned I would never wear them if temps get warm enough to rain anyway. I've hunted in temps at or below zero in them and with a good pair of insulated rubber boots I can last a long time. The cargo style pants also allow for packing in all I need to last 1/2 a day. I’ve been thinking of getting the wooltimate sweatshirt. My question is is it wind proof?

My question is is it wind proof? the pants seem to be much thicker than the jacket so sometimes I'll wear my 4-1 parka if it is really cold with wind cause the jacket lets the wind through.

I wear Kryptek brand outerwear and love it.
