Maryland hasn't been the same since they pushed out Ralph Friedgen. Ten years of stability and success wasn't enough, and they've had nine years since of mediocrity, scandal and looking for the next big thing.
Latest bowl projection I saw was Michgan v. Auburn in the Gator Bowl.

That death at Maryland from their workouts a couple of years ago and the lawsuit has hurt their recruiting.

Friedgen did a great job building that program but he apparently ran afoul of the Under Armour folks and they pushed him out. Those douchebags have done a great job running that program back into the ground.

I question Locksley’s ability to lead young men. His oldest son was shot to death in a botched drug deal. His youngest son was suspended by UTEP after he was arrested for DUI , drugs and an illegal firearm. While he was recently reinstated by UTEP, he’s obviously not a choir boy. I would think opposing coaches would use this against Maryland in recruiting, i.e. “Do you want this guy watching over your son if this is how he watched over his own sons”?

Those douchebags have done a great job running that program back into the ground. Agree. The UA influence wrecked things, especially when they brought in the guys Locksey replaced. While I don't think pushing players to and past the limits is a bad thing, the reports from multiple players about verbal abuse and such didn't just appear out of whole cloth. Whatever happened there wasn't good. Certainly would like to think Locksey learned from his UTEP debacle because that was a mess, but we may not know for another 2-3 years if he did. If Maryland is still a mess in 2022 or 2023, it might reinforce the belief that some coaches can be solid or great assistants or coordinators and others can make the jump to HC. Not sure he's in the latter category yet.

Locksley was the OC that got destroyed in the national championship game with Tua as the QB. What did you expect?

And Josh Gattis is Michigan's OC. He was on the offensive staff at Bama last year. Both were terrible
