JKlep 4 point Joined: Jan 2016 Posts: 529 Opelika	Just be careful with thinking a 30.06 is less recoil than a 300 Win Mag. I have an older A bolt chambered in 30.06 that will just about bring tears to your eyes to shoot, but I also have an X bolt in 300 Win Mag that has considerably less recoil. Now the 300 win mag has a ported barrel and a recoil pad where the 30.06 has neither. Just something to think about if you are looking to get something not chambered in a magnum to get reduced recoil.

For reduced recoil, I'd shoot nothing bigger than a 120 grain bullet or at least something with less powder like a .308 and 125 grain bullets if I was going to stick with a larger bore.
