Bait the traps real good and be patient...they'll be around when they feel comfortable with them

If we have a sounder that's shy of the trap after we put it up we take 100# of corn, put it in a tub, pour a case of Natties in it, cover it and let it sour for a couple of weeks. Put it in and around the trap and leave it alone. They'll show up for it eventually. How dare you waste Natties that way😄

We have a boar that refuses to enter the trap. We have pics of him every single night for the past two weeks walking around the trap and right up to the door but will not enter the trap. I guess we are just going to have to kill him the old fashioned way.

I'd remove the snare reference since the state refuses to consider the use of hog snares. Louisianna and Texas use them effectively and they another tool in the toolbox for hogs. I've suggested creating a special opportunity license for hog snaring with some training and reporting requirements but it gets no traction. I figured if you sold it as a "special opportunity" fee program they would be on it like a chicken on a junebug.
"Cull" is just another four letter word...

Twice this winter we've had remote traps set up from USDA invasive species guys. First trap was a fixed panel with 2 drop gates and the current one is a Boar Buster. Different locations and different sounders of pigs. Pigs have been hitting same site every day/night for 2 weeks and then the trap is brought in. After trap is there, pigs are gone, only to show up on another camera in different area. Any suggestions other than dogs, IR/thermal rifles and putting up hog fences? Call me.
