I had to hit I-65 N to Birmingham this morning for a doc. appt. I don't see how you folks that do it daily can stand it. Probably 20% of drivers had no headlights on in foggy, rainy conditions. I'd say about 20% didn't signal when changing lanes 10 feet in front of me. Several 18 wheelers clogging the far left lanes. Every driver I noticed with a phone buried in their face was a woman. I'm so thankful I only have a 10 minute commute to work everyday. My daughter drives to UAB five days a week. Worries me to death.

And while y'all are out there driving remember:
If you are going to drive 65 or slower, good for you now.... STAY OUT OF THE LEFT LANE!

Every driver I noticed with a phone buried in their face was a woman. I have always wondered who the hell they could all be talking to and what's so important. The answers I came up with were talking to each other and nothing. Had some chick cut me off today with phone stuck in her ear. Insane. I have a bud who is a very intelligent and highly educated guy who told me never to underestimate the stupidity of the american public. Saw a young dude one time driving a jacked up truck with music blaring and a phone in one hand and cigarette in the other, guess he was driving with his knees. Talk about overstimulated.

That sounds like 459 on a good day.
Which is why I opt to take Sicard Hollow Road back behind Liberty Park, but lately one of my roads had been washed out, so I have to take the interstate. I forgot just how bad it sucks. Even when I try to be a chill driver there's always at least several people that have to act like complete buttholes just because they didn't get up 5 minutes earlier that day.
Personally I welcome the advent of self driving cars. Most people shouldn't be driving in the first place the sooner robots take over driving the better.

Just wait till summer. I’ve seen 2 times a motorcyclist texting and riding. unbelievable

That would be an improvement over what I see most mornings on I-565. I hate when I get a call up in Huntsville just for the reason 565 is horrible in the morning and after 15:30

Where did that idea of a high speed bullet train from Mobile to Nashville go? Oh Elon Musk doesnt think about anything east of the Mississippi River.

Had a guy pass me on I-65 on a crotch rocket watching a movie on his cell phone.. I'd love to own a life insurance policy on him. That would be like playing with house money.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Where did that idea of a high speed bullet train from Mobile to Nashville go? Oh Elon Musk doesnt think about anything east of the Mississippi River. After taking the train from London to Paris in 2018 in just three hours, it would be fantastic to have those here. It was wonderful. The high taxes to pay for them, though, not so much.
