If death befalls someone with covid19. Would cremation be safer than burial ?

I wouldn't imagine the virus can live through the embalming fluid.

Local funeral director here got papers stating graveside services only.

I am sure that is so the attendees can spread far enough out to keep the social distancing in effect.

Sure it is. But I guess if you want more your loved one will have to take an extended stay in the morgue i reckon.

I have known of people dying and the funerals not being held for quite some time after they died because of travel logistics of family members. I have no knowledge of it, but I would think that there would be a storage fee of some sort if a body was going to have to be hanging around longer than the average length of time between death and burial.

A funeral pyre is a common thing around the world....I don't know why some folks are squeamish about cremation
Fire has been used for centuries to cleanse sick areas and burning the dead bodies of those who were sick was used to stop the spread of the virus

Im going to be cremated. It's much less expense on the family & I never liked the idea of people that never liked me looking over my dead carcass. I do want a burial plot & headstone with my ashes beneath. I also want my preacher to include my memorial service in his Sunday service, that may bring someone into church that really needs it.

A co-worker's father died yesterday from a heart attack, and they are sending his body directly to the crematorium - bypassing the funeral home altogether - mainly to save a ton of money. I didn't realize this was an option, but it seems it is, and I don't think it has anything to do with the virus.

FWIW, If you donate your body to science they will come get you, dissect you in a medical school, cremate the body when through and return them to the family with a certificate of appreciation. For those of you that are worried about the cost of a funeral.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

The only way I would go to a funeral right now would be a close relative and then not get close to anyone.

I am going to be cremated and spread around in my favorite places. I have no desire to waste a piece of ground for my bones.

I know a guy that is a huge turkey hunter and said he was going to be cremated and put in a corn pile so he could be turkey hunting all the time. His brother laughed and said with your luck you will wind up a hog turd. LOL

When my second wife was dying, she called around and found the cheapest crematorium in the Salt Lake City area. Then she had a friend make an industrial strength cardboard coffin. Instead of a funeral, we threw one last party for all the friends and relatives. People laughed and cried, got drunk or stoned, and all said goodbye to her while she could still appreciate the sentiments.
When she died, we boxed her up and had her cremated. Total cost was under $600. Funeral homes are not necessary for everyone.

There is a company that will mix you in with some shotgun shells and your buddies can have a skeet shoot with you
