I'm sure plenty of folks have them. You can rent them, they're all over the place. Usually around $300/day.

Thanks, is that around 300 out the door or do you have to pay for the insurance on top of that?

Most rentals do around $250-300 per day on a mini-ex...may get a touch cheaper on an open station or higher with enclosed.....member this tho...them little fellers are handy in the hands of the highly skilled...but are very underpowered in my oppinion....heck...most factory set rentals(which is what youll get probly) are weak to me in 200 and 300 series machines....when i run thay bucket in the dirt....it either needs to turn the ground UPSIDE DOWN....or busta hose...which is probly the latter....i hate a weak machine.

Alright, I know it's a stretch, but is there anyone out there close to me that will let me borrow or rent a small excavator (not the tiniest ones)over a weekend? I'm willing to pick up or pay for transportation, and I will sign a waiver. The prices of these equipment rental places are crazy as heck for what I can rent. You're welcome to PM me, thanks!

Call whatever rental business you are dealing with and ask for the salesperson that covers the area you are needing one. Then call him/her and discuss rates. A salesperson works off of commission based on how much they can rent out. The person working the counter gets paid a salary but also a bonus based on how much the can rent at book rate. You will always get the better deal, dealing directly with a salesperson. That said, if you are just a one time cash deal, you are goin for be considered high liability and will pay a higher rate. Doesn’t matter if you spent your whole life running equipment. Those machines come back torn up A LOT, from cash deals and folks that “run them all the time”. Hope that helps.

You might try B&G Equipment, AFG rentals.... they do daily and weekend and probably have a way for an individual to get insurance if you do not have a company with insurance you can rent under.
Dothan has several rental companies.

I only rent by month and the insurance hurdle prohibits most individuals from renting from me.

You may come out better to just hire someone.

Thanks for the input yall, I went with AGF. I will have excavator and trailer over the weekend for less than 400 bucks. I really dont think i could've come out better any other way.
