Have any of y’all noticed a HUGE increase of biting flies this year? They’re worse here than I’ve ever seen.
I’ve dug out my 1980’s-ish bug zapper...and it’s wearing them out, but good Lord these flies are terrible.
Any serious suggestions?

Get a beach ball or two and paint them...completely cover them in Tanglefoot....hang them around your yard wherever the flies are bad.

They were eating my dog up, bought some SWAT from tractor supply and they won't even go near him now.

Haven't noticed many on the north end. Plenty stink bugs. I don't recall ever seeing biting flies growing up. No wood bees either. Always had horse flies.

The flies have been bad here in South Florida for the last two months.

I put a T-shirt on, and they were biting me through it like it wasn’t there. I had to cover myself from head to toe in Deet. I hate it, but that’s all I’ve seen that helps so far.

Now is that a for real working solution?...or a “it’d be funny to get that big dumb redneck to tie beach balls hanging up around his property” kind of thing?
BWAHAHAHAHA!!!

If it seriously works, I’ll try it.

Last time I was fishing Fort Morgan the dam horseflies tore my ass up big time. Like a horror movie. Never seen them so bad. Had whelps all over and felt sick the next day. Two days later ran over a yellowjacket hole mowing and got stung 10 or 12 times.
