Just finished these up to send the guys that I hunt with in Iowa and Missouri as a thank you. Just started playing around with the forging side of things, and came up with making the bottle openers with whitetail tine handles. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/oMiCaJM.jpg) This one is O1 high carbon tool steel, nickle silver bolster, whitetail shed scales ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/SY8G9tP.jpg) This on is CPM 154 Stainless, copper bolster and ebony wood scales ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/m3YpDI5.jpg) 1095 High Carbon, Stainless bolster and cocobolo scales. Also rope file work down the spine of the blade. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/KUizRw5.jpg) CPM 154 stainless blade, stainless bolster and reclaimed sinker cypress scales. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/85loASl.jpg) CPM 154 stainless, stainless guard nad end cap, ebony wood spacer and whitetail shed handle ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/a7HPUYS.jpg) O1 High Carbon tool steel, nickle silver guard and end cap, walnut and g10 spacers, and whitetail tine handle. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/Lzrj8E2.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/hAGdG6o.jpg) bottle openers are just mild carbon steel. I did one out of flat bar and one from round stock, just trying different methods.

Hey man, those are some nice looking pieces. I use to make knives but haven't messed with it in a while. PM me if you want to talk knives sometime ,or I might have some stuff, including cool handle materials. I will share one tip-trick for hidden tang knives right now though. As you know, one mark of a quality job is the way the guard fits around the ricasso,or rather how tight. You want the blade to look like it grew out of the guard. For you non maker guys, this takes a lot of time with filing and fitting. If however you are using brass, which I love to work with, you can sort of ball peen the face of the guard and flare the metal out around your fitted slot ever so slightly to the point where you will have to drive the guard on the blade using a piece of pipe. It will fit so tight there won't be any gaps, and the peening effect means you don't have to be so exact with your tang slot tolerances. Hopefully, this picture will show what I mean. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/JbrpmFJ.jpg)
