That is so cool!
I asked my wife to dump my ashes in Pea River in central Coffee County somewhere but she refuses. Guess I’ll just have to outlive the selfish heifer.

I asked mine to put a dash of my ashes in her bowl of chili so I can tear that ass up one more time!

Waiting on a response Lonster

Not the same at all. Folks are buried in cemeteries that are designed for headstones and flower decorations. What you found was floating debris which was tossed into a navigable stream, by you, since you took possession then placed it in the middle of the river. Who knows, maybe the next person that does this will just place grandpas body in his favorite bass boat and cut him loose to “drift to the Gulf”. What is the size limit on the floating memorial/urn that one is allowed to “release” into a stream?

It sure would piss me off to hit ole Billy Bob’s urn with my prop or my sidescan transducer.

Slow down then. There's trees and stumps where your prop and ducer live.

I know some people don't believe in cremation. But I'm pretty sure somewhere it's written that our physical body is just a vehicle by which we transit the mortal existence.
Plain fact is, when someone is buried we mourn and pray over them. Not long after that we just forget about the grave. So I'm inclined to think a gravestone is just another piece of rock.

A really morbid thought that I've wondered about. Imagine the total value of land that graveyards occupy in the United States.

From tiny church cemetaries in the middle of no where to HUGE old cemetaries in super expensive big cities.

You could cut it open , pour him in the river , place the empty tube in the trash. He makes it to the gulf, PVC trash out of the river, everybody is happy.

According to this link it was sent out on the 20th, "letters and memories" in the capsule

"However, yesterday we had a send off of letters and memories of him in a floating capsule to travel down the river to the coast in it's own time. It was a bittersweet but beautiful day. Thank you all"

That is the problem with the democrats , they want everybody happy, Just cannot happen as much as I would like to see it happen so I suggest to all that are not happy or have other Ideas go find him and go your route in doing whatever you want to make you happy. But remember I found him the way his family wanted and that is the way I left the situation thumbup.

Nice job birdcarver. You did well, by letting him make his own headway & perhaps explore the route to the coast in his own way. Maybe others will do as well as you did.

I hate to burst any bubbles BUT he ain’t going to the Gulf. He’s headed to one of two destinations, one of those IS a gulf of fire and hopefully he’s not headed there.
Now, as far as the remains of his mortal body, they have presumably been placed inside of a piece of PVC and tossed into a waterway, no different than tossing a beer bottle into the river.
