Something LPVO. A 1-6 power scope. I have a Aimpoint on my 10.5 BO right now just because it wasn't on a rifle but ill put a LPVO on it eventually

Good recommendation but I think the VXR were discontinued. I recently bought a 1-6 Burris, etched and illuminated reticle.

I initially went with a fixed 3X on mine. It totally sucked for testing loads at 100 yards. Not enough magnification.

So, I upgraded to a 2-7x32 Nikon BDC for the .300BLK. It's been a good scope so far. High enough magnification for longer distances but able to dial down to 2x if the action is close. But, Nikon has discontinued their scope line.

The Vortex Crossfire II 2-7x32 Riflescope would be similar. Optics Planet has those.

EDIT... I've killed 4 deer so far with the .300BLK and a couple were in low light conditions. That 32mm objective is plenty good for light transmission at the lower magnifications. I usually keep mine on 3X

What round, what range you shooting the deer with the .300BO?

I shoot a 125gr ballistic tip at just over 2000ft/sec. Feel fairly comfortable out to 200yds.

The harder I practice, the luckier I get.

I really like the style of this one, but not sure about the company that makes it. Anyone heard of this?

My 16" 300blk AR carries a Vortex PST 1-4x. My 16" Ruger American 300blk has the Primary Arms 1-6x with the ACSS reticle(this reticle is really handy as it works well with both subs and supers). My 9.5" 300blk AR pistol has an RMR with a 2moa dot.

I strongly prefer the LPVO for the 300blk on a carbine and want a true 1x if possible. For fast, close shooting, it can be used both-eyes-open like a red dot. But also has enough magnification to make accurate shots well out to the maximum effective range of the 300blk(which for me is 250 yards, although I tote these when I'm not expecting to have shot opportunities much past 100.)

I have a 9" Blackout pistol. Thinking of going red dot and then add 3x magnifier flip with it. Anyone have experience with magnifiers? Will a 3x magnifier with red dot reach out to 200 yds?

I've dropped 4 deer so far with the .300BLK, 2 with supersonic and 2 with subsonic suppressed. All were neck shots with the longest at 60 yards for the supersonic. The longest subsonic was 40 yards and was relatively quiet. I guess that's ok performance.

Supersonic - handloaded Barnes 110gr TAC-TX at about 2350 fps
Subsonic - factory Hornady 190gr Sub-X at about 1050 fps

Probably need to start a new thread for that question. I've never used a red dot/magnifier combo because I've configured my rifles for hunting. In a SHTF situation I'll probably go with my 7+1 capacity 12 gauge pump and 00 Buck.
