Something LPVO. A 1-6 power scope. I have a Aimpoint on my 10.5 BO right now just because it wasn't on a rifle but ill put a LPVO on it eventually

Leupold 1.25-4x20 VXR w/ Firedot Circle reticle Good recommendation but I think the VXR were discontinued. I recently bought a 1-6 Burris, etched and illuminated reticle.
"Cull" is just another four letter word...

I initially went with a fixed 3X on mine. It totally sucked for testing loads at 100 yards. Not enough magnification. So, I upgraded to a 2-7x32 Nikon BDC for the .300BLK. It's been a good scope so far. High enough magnification for longer distances but able to dial down to 2x if the action is close. But, Nikon has discontinued their scope line. The Vortex Crossfire II 2-7x32 Riflescope would be similar. Optics Planet has those. https://www.opticsplanet.com/vortex-crossfire-ii-2-7x32-rifle-scope.htmlEDIT... I've killed 4 deer so far with the .300BLK and a couple were in low light conditions. That 32mm objective is plenty good for light transmission at the lower magnifications. I usually keep mine on 3X

What round, what range you shooting the deer with the .300BO?

On the distance I like to walk to my stands: “The first 100 yards is also the last 100 yards.”

I've dropped 4 deer so far with the .300BLK, 2 with supersonic and 2 with subsonic suppressed. All were neck shots with the longest at 60 yards for the supersonic. The longest subsonic was 40 yards and was relatively quiet. I guess that's ok performance.
Supersonic - handloaded Barnes 110gr TAC-TX at about 2350 fps Subsonic - factory Hornady 190gr Sub-X at about 1050 fps

Probably need to start a new thread for that question. I've never used a red dot/magnifier combo because I've configured my rifles for hunting. In a SHTF situation I'll probably go with my 7+1 capacity 12 gauge pump and 00 Buck.
