Was just wondering if anyone else owned one. My dad bought me this gun 15 years ago and I have never saw another one any where. Just wondering if they may be rare.

A buddy has one that was bought new back in the 70's.

Pretty much the same gun as the 700 without the walnut stock.

Quite a few around.

I have a friend that has one in 270. Free floated it and it shot like crap...put the pressure hump back and it shot great. Recoil pad added helps a bunch.

My buddy must be mistaken, they were only built from 1984-1988.

I have one in .308. Very accurate! I use it more than my other rifles. It's also the rifle my wife uses.

First gun I ever purchased in 1986. Like others said, it is the ADL w/out the fancy stock. 270 and replaced stock w synthetic years ago. I cut the original stock down last year and now have it dialed in w managed recoil for my daughter. Never had a problem with it and will always keep it around.

According to Remington's website, it came only in .223 Remington, .243 Win, .308 Win, .270 Win, and .30-06.

Mine a .270 and its dead on with remington corelocs. Shooting a hundred fifty grain. And pretty well anything I have shot through it.

Can't beat it. I have bought several guns over the years. But always I go back to my sportsman 78.
