standing in one spot, esp on concrete, for over a few minutes kills my knees and hips. I'll be 70 in a few more weeks.

Try taking Turmeric everyday.
I'm 60 still workout, run, hike, chop firewood, etc... I'm not saying it's without pain and my right knee makes a crunching sound every time I go up and down stairs, but I still stay active.

Turned 40 and it was like a someone flipped the light switch for injuries and pain. Seemed to get better a few years later, but when I do get an injury from manual labor, working out or exercising, it takes forever to heal. You’re right. Can’t see, can’t piss, can’t think, cannot stand for long periods of time. One other thing I’ve noticed has left me is the loss of tackiness or grip with my hands. I don’t think I have fingerprints any longer.

I'm 53, exercising, eating right with a lot of fruits and vegetables, and laying off the alcohol is what works for me. I did the murph workout yesterday then walked 3 miles with my wife later. Everytime I go back to eating bad and drinking the inflammation starts up. My goal is to lose 20lbs this year.

I feel like I hit a growth spurt too and turned into a 5 ½ year old buck suddenly…….I didn’t step on the scales for a long time…..I was always around 225-230 lbs give or take for years…….My tracking pants shrunk over the summer so for the heck of it I thought I’d see what I was weighing…..Holy cheet!!!.....258 lbs…….I feel like my chest and shoulders have gotten wider and my belly is sagging like an old buck suddenly……I can still walk a marathon through the woods though

40 was when little things started creeping up on me.

Water skiing at 41 years old, a sudden jerk from the rope left me with a biceps tendon pulled off the bone. Surgery and 6 months to get back to full strength caused me to think about physical activities in a whole different way. Recovery from injury is a bitch.
20 years later, here at 61, I'm still hunting public land alone and solo canoeing. Occasional workouts at the gym and doing my own yardwork help. I'm more likely to grab an axe or bowsaw than a chainsaw just so I can get more exercise when trimming or cutting down a tree. Taking the stairs instead of an elevator is my norm. But I've been careful about recreation. No water or snow skiing, no roller blading or ice skating. No running, racquetball, tennis, etc. I'm reasonable on a watercraft and when SCUBA diving, not pushing the limit. I take my time going up hills in the woods and use a walking stick when hiking.
The results: My joints are in great shape and I have no back issues. There's been no further injuries with the accompanying long recoveries. But some pain and being uncomfortable is normal as you age and I've learned to deal with it. My 86 year old dad is my inspiration. He stays active and just last Saturday dropped a nice 8-point. He's probably fishing today.

I'll be 54 in 2 weeks. When covid hit I decided it was time to make a lifestyle change in regards to health, i.e. exercise and foods. The wife got me an apple watch so that i could track exercise. I started off walking...a lot...usually about 4 miles a day. After a few months I started walking 2 miles and running 2 miles. Then I went to walking 2 miles, running 2 miles, 125 jumping jacks, 25 deep knee squats and 20 second planks, all in quick session, one after the other. Before bed I do 40 sit ups and 25 push ups and butterfly 25 pound dumb bells 25 to 30 times. About 3 months ago I got a gym membership and started incorporating weight training into all this. I'm now in size 34 waist pants and feel outstanding...I'm 6' 210 (I want to drop 20 more pounds) with it all put together pretty well according to the wife. Exercise is so ingrained into my lifestyle, if i miss a day I feel guilty. Yesterday I benched 225 10 times which made me feel proud for my age. I'm a living testimony to getting after it at age 53. It has to become a priority in your life, like reading your bible and praying...everyday!
