I dumped FB this week from both a personal and business standpoint. Not supporting those commie bastards. Closed both accounts.

I tell everyone that al deer is the best news site in the state maybe country 30,000 small town reporters someone here knows everyone in ever small town it seems. The news is often better more accurate and timely than the media. That coupled with the quality of people makes this site golden.

FB makes about 98% of their revenue from FB ads. They’ve built dozens of billion dollar data centers to be able to handle and store all the crap people keep on FB and use million dollar servers to process all the add traffic going on. I’d bet if enough people dropped off FB they would be in a hurting quick.

I don’t think either platform is concerned about a money loss. First of all, the new communist government will keep them propped up. Second, they are more concerned about the agenda and censorship than they are the money.

Just ask a few along the way that got their start on this site by being exposed as frauds while threads exposing the fraud went viral on other sites. It’s scary that 2-3 major tech companies handle the data storage and traffic for majority of the World Wide Web. What’s to keep them from pulling an Amazon move and unplugging services of people that don’t agree with their political and world agenda.

They're not worried about it, same as the NFL isn't worried about the "Boycott!" crowd. They're still making their billions, just like the social platforms.

What will be next is these sites or platforms denying firearms companies or pulling service. Sue us? Fine, go ahead. That'll be next after Biden's crew declares firearms as a "national health crisis" (they already have) and will go after them hard.

I’ll betcha both platforms receive “black money”. That is, appropriated through Congress, not accounted for, taxpayer funded. This is not simply a capitalist endeavor. It’s a CIA funded self-reporting mechanism.

2.7 Billion people use FB.

To have any impact, at least a third of that if not more would have to leave and never return. But even then, FB already has their data and can continue to use it.

A few thousand "Phuck em, I'm done" quitters would barely be a blip to them.

BTW, there are about 7.8 Billion people in the world. FB has a giant chunk of that. They're not going anywhere unless ZuckerburgerBoard decides to turn it off.

I disagree Clem. 2.7 billion may use it but those advertising $$ are geared specifically toward the richest of developed countries and most specifically the US where we spend money like drunken sailors. US has a pop of 330 million with roughly 200 million of those being of spending age. You get 70 million US citizens to drop FB and Twit and it'll do more than create a blip I can promise you.

They do not care because their train is big enough to keep rolling on.

Seventy million people wouldn't quit anyway. They're already hooked on the dopamine rush and addictive need to get "news" or see what people think about something.
