I do not like the doubles from Walmart, that bar in the back rather than having at least a tree to lean against is pain for the back. A chiropractor must have made those to increase his clientele. My wife picked me one up a year or so back on clearance as a Christmas present. I sat in it for the 1st time this year and, while it may be a "double" stand, there is no room for 2 people unless their total weight is about 200#...I don't think my 14 yr old daughter, who is very small framed, and myself could sit in the stand together. And, I'd like to use that bar across the back and beat the designer of the stand in the head with it. My ladder stand will be coming out of the woods in the next few weeks and some modifications being made to fix that uncomfortable back bar. I think sitting in these things qualify as cruel and inhumane punishment...I hate this dang stands.

17 foot Field and Stream with a 4 foot extension. Single mesh seat. Best stand out there imo.

Post from several years back, like 10 years back Do you number have a number for Jimmy Andress? These Andress stands are awesome...I get his number and post in the morning...guy i work with has it. Here is the the info I got from Timbercuiser: Jimmy Andress 334-717-4424 is the last number I had on him. He works at the Nuclear Plant and is usually home about 6:00 if he isn't hunting.
It takes a long time to grow an old friend.

Jimmy Andress (334) 714-4424. Jimmy’s stands will last forever and are very safe, none of that cheap Chinese steel on his stands. You will need a cushion because that expanded metal seaT will have your ass cheeks looking like a burger after a few hours.

That number is still correct for Jimmy.
The last I priced was $225 for a single, $275 for a bowhunter single and $325 for a double.
He also has some 4'x4' box stands that are made out of Aircraft aluminum, the only wood is on the shelf under the window. Those were $400 and he can make a steel platform for about another $400.
Disclaimer: That being said, material prices are crazy high right now and he told me last I spoke with him that he was going to have to go up on pricing.

Does Jimmy build a 20 foot stand? Can it be shipped? Or if I pick it up will it fit in the back of a truck?

Jimmy Andress in Madrid Alabama builds the best. Single and doubles Most people don't know about Jimmy so they recommend other things. He builds these stands himself out of Electrical conduit and they will outlast any other stand you put out. It’s gonna have to be a mighty fine stand to be better than Family Traditions. Not only are they the most comfortable, my oldest ones are antiques...literally over 25yrs old and still in service. Got any pics of one of those Andress stands? I’m not scared to try something new and if they’re that good...sign me up. Only problem I have with Family Traditions or the old Arnco ladders is the sealbelt style seating although comfortable makes lots of noise. Great comfortable stands though.

I don't know about shipping You can get an extension piece also but I don't know the price of it. A Double stand will fit in the back of a chevy silverado standard bed with the tailgate down and some ratchet straps

The EMT stands I have are 16 feet tall. They are light and can be put up by one person. I use to see these for sale, but haven't seen any in years. EMT tube with a expanded metal seat and foot rest. I have some of the Atmore prison ladders, but they are steel and it take a good man or two old men to move and put up. Most ladders are Chinese junk and not made for long sits. Always take a cushion.
