Guys- our camp near Fort Davis was broken into, and ransacked in the lasts 2 days( we found it yesterday). Just be aware if you are in that area.

ANY camp in that area is at risk, at any time.

And the LEO's won't do anything about it.

Any camp in any area where you drag a compound in set it up and leave it a week at a time is at risk, any county all over the state.

need to have the camp rigged to blow and a cellular camera like on the hog traps set. See a break in...blow it up.

Ain't nothing there worth hurting anyone over. But I do know some folks keep nice things at their camp. Sheriff's came and made a report..... and again, nothing will get done. Manpower for, and interest in these crimes are way down the list.

You’d be surprised how often things come up found, often times there is zero to work with as far as evidence. We solve crimes all the time through Facebook marketplace.. it’s the new pawn shop

We have a lease in coffee county. Over the wkend we got pics of ppl on our lease and found their campsite. Called the sheriffs about it they took a few pics and left. Within a few hrs I had identified the ppl. Called the sheriffs back and told them i found out who it was and they told me without a address or a phone number for the ppl I identified there was nothing they could do.

The landowners where we hunt in Macon County had $30,000 worth of stuff from the house, Rangers, ATVs & trailers stolen from their place. Guys tore the burglar bars off with a vehicle. They even took time to have some cereal. The guy from the State Trooper Farm Theft Division told him that nothing would probably happen until some of the perps ended up being found dead in ditches. ..but then their friends would probably burn the house down as well as the property.

I agree with a Bham Fred. Happens every year after hunting season.

One of my patients had their trailer on their property in Macon county broken into last weekend. Had him on camera going through the trailer and making himself a meal before cleaning out the closets and ransacking the place. LEO know who he is and he has multiple outstanding warrants but he's still out on the streets.

I used to be in a club in Selma area with a crazy Cajun. We used to get broke into every year as soon as season closed. One year the Cajun fellow stayed at camp a few days extra in hopes of catching them. Crazy thing got into a gun fight with them. No one got shot but they never came back.

How did you identify?

Perps that broke into our camps ate food as well and dumped the trash cans in both trailers to take what they wanted out. There was a guy named John or Johnny Spann in the area that was associated with a lot of these activities, so if he is still alive I am sure he is on their radar. he was been arrested and released before. Same MO in a lot of places. Probably not a lot to work with , as in evidence, in our break in. Not blaming anyone for what eventually happens but if you don't catch them red handed and hold them for LE not likely it gets resolved.

I can’t believe some of these thieves aren’t found shot full of holes. It’s likely they come to steal and are armed when they arrive. It makes a pretty good self defense claim. We all just end up paying for it with higher premiums. Used to be you could be hung for stealing a horse. You put 2 guys with night vision, and thermals, and an ar15 each, you could lay down some hurt on these thieves. You need to night hunt them as though they are a highly praised game animal.

Those of y'all in there areas need to hire a private security entity that travels from camp to camp. Put up signs, let them know that somebody armed will be at the camp two nights a week and that if they feel lucky to come on in.

Move in a down and out mercenarie, give bonuses.
