Interesting to me that the counties with the most observations are the counties that had their season set back two weeks this year. There is obviously more attention being places on observation in the counties of greatest concern Lawrence,Wayne,Giles, Lincoln. More eyes watching are going to see more turkeys. If i want to find a snake all i need to do is flip rocks. Just because i don’t see one doesn’t mean he is not there. Population is nothing compared to what it use to be in those counties I will agree completely but everyone should be cautious of looking at “the data” seems its always skewed. https://www.tndeer.com/threads/2020-wild-turkey-report.401088/

Interesting data! Would be neat to see of Alabama showed a very similar trend in the rise of turkeys in the 90s and then the decline starting about the 2000s. Looks like todays numbers are very similar to the 1980s numbers which hopefully means there will be a nice upswing and hopefully turkey populations will grow back to what they were in the 90s someday. No clue if later start dates for hunters will help or if the turkeys will just naturally rebound. Thanks for posting

Not in huntable numbers anyway. We are getting there though. The last 2 years, we have had great hatches, and hopefully a few more years to come it will get better. We've had a long row to hoe, with the turkey situation.
