It’s chain fare, but the Longhorn there is good.

Thanks Anthony. I was hoping a few locals would chime in also. I may wind up a Longhorn.

The prime rib at the Rail yard is great! And it is very reasonable for the food you get.

I don't know how you Decatur people ever eat out. Just about everything is closed or the dining room is at least. Tried BB Perrin's and it was going to take a while to seat our group so we left. I think that was a mistake. We are at Texas Roadhouse waiting for a seat now. 🤨

I don’t eat out. I drink out mostly. I cook what I want to eat at my house. Perrins is our hangout on rainy days. And the hard dock across the river

When the railyard had the pork belly bites it was mighty fine. A few cops left railyard to start steak down street. Right as corona lie hit. They didn’t fare so well.

Big Bob Gibson’s, the one on Highway 31.

After we had eaten I realized it was Longhorn that AC had recommended not Texas Roadhouse. I at least checked into most of the other places recommended before we settled on a chain steakhouse. They either closed early, dining rooms not open or something else. Texas Roadhouse sure wasn't our first choice but it turned out to be pretty decent. We were even going to try Bob Gibson's against my recommendation. (I just happened to remember an Aldeer thread about Alabama BBQ joints. ) The dining room wasn't open there either. I'm glad it wasn't. BBQ sauce is meant to be Redish, not White.
Thank's for all of the suggestions. Maybe next time I will actually get to eat at one of them.

I vote there needs to be repercussions for even suggesting Big Bobs. If you are lucky it may be edible.

Metalmuncher the white sauce goes on chicken. Chicken is one thing Big Bobs actually does good on.

You might need to try Penn's Hamburgers, it's somewhat of a local legend. You'll probably love them or hate them. I haven't had them in years but I'm in the "love them" group.
