He's been missing for two weeks, and there is pretty good reason to believe he was stolen (see below from the gofundme page): Pierre has been missing since 8/7/2021 around 6AM in Homewood, AL (suburb of Birmingham in Jefferson County). He is a big boy at 80lbs and also has a tattoo on his belly from his time in bomb detection school. He was wearing an orange collar the day he went missing. He also is microchipped! The last time he was sighted was 8/7/21. We know someone has to have seen him at some point. Please share with any and everyone. He could be anywhere at this point. His family needs him home!
The week following his going missing, a hound named Ladybyrd traced his scent to an apartment complex in Homewood and stopped. While all avenues for finding Pierre have been exhausted, we believe that he was there at one point.
While there is already a $2500 reward for Pierre’s no questions asked return, many of you have asked how you can help. Last week, there was a cryptic letter that showed up. With a little additional financial help, there are people who know how to do additional digging to see if we can find him. Including bringing back Ladybyrd back for scent tracing. He's a really pretty dog, so I would not be surprised to see someone try to sell him outside the Birmingham area. If you see something, please let his owners know.

Good looking dog. I had a pure bred yellow lab stolen a few years ago. Pretty sure it was some ppl up the street but couldn't prove it. She was a great friend. I hope you find him. Good luck.

I worry about this all the time.
Several decades ago, I had a lab disappear. Pretty sure someone stole him.

The microchip is the size of a grain of rice that has the owners contact info saved to it. A vet can scan a dog and if it has a micro chip the scanner will beep and show the info. Those microchips migrate, sometimes hard to find them. Then there’s the issue of whether the Vet’s scanner reads that particular chip and whether or not the owner has it registered. Microchips aren’t necessarily a guarantee. Hopefully the owners get their pet back.

I'm in Homewood and I'll certainly keep my eye peeled.. I'm sorry that he is missing. What section of Homewood was he taken from? Appreciate it! He went missing from his home on Berkley Place, a couple of blocks from Central Park.
