Our club tournament is next weekend. i wanted to go this weekend, and check some stuff out since i hardly ever fish logan martin. i'm going to be coming from our place on lay, and will be headed back that way when i'm done. Is there a boat launch on the south end of the lake, near the dam that would be closer for me? Oh, and any tips for the lake would be great! wink

There is a launch over at Clear Creek which is right by the dam. There are also multiple launches in Rabbit Branch.

The south end of the lake is more of a spot fishing deal; docks, brush piles, road beds, etc, etc, etc. From Chocolocco up, there is a lot more grass and stumpy ledges.

not knowing how to run the lake that well, i wanted to stick to the spots down south. i fished there a few times, and feel safe running from lakeside down there. i've never run any further north that the first bridge up from lakeside. are there any creeks or cuts that hold heads on the south end of the lake?

Try Rabbit Branch or Cropwell Creek. Tons of docks and a little grass is the backs of both creeks.

Coosa Island is usually not crowded. Puts you close to Rabbit Branch and across the river from Clear Creek.
