Anybody on “hear” use them? My dad is getting to where he can’t hear well anymore and doesn’t help that his eyesight isn’t the greatest but he loves hunting. Thinking about getting him some for Christmas.

Have used them ever since Bob Walker came out with them decades ago. Solid products and I never have had an issue with them. Another possibility to try is Tetra - https://tetrahearing.com/ -- which fit in the ear, have different sound level options and other features. The founder has worked for 25+ years in the audiology and music industries. What he sells and what the "tone" companies sell aren't much different, although Tetra has virtually zero overhead (monster buildings, layers of VPs and such). So while the price seems high, it likely would be 3-4 times as much with other companies.

Can't believe I'm gonna give away this deer hunting secret but if you cup your hands over your ears kind of like a deer's ears, you will be amazed at how much better you can hear directionally. Really amazing and FREE. It also works if you are trying to overhear a conversation from across a room like if some guy is flirting up your wife and about to get his ass kicked.

Had the 2 mic ones, and then the quads (4 mic) thinking they were better, NOT, sold both. Don't know about the new ones, digital vs analog is a selling hoax. You can hear but which direction? Drove me crazy trying to locate something walking in the leaves. Not good for turkey hunting for sure. I got 'Mega Ears' by Game Finder, those work but distance guessing has to be learned. Had one repair (high freq went out on one side)! Company was in Huntsville, but went out of business........To add: I could not tell the distance nor the direction with Walkers. I was hunting every tree rat (ghost deer/turkey) on the ground, pins and needles, made me crazy. With gun fire, one needs the volume shut-down models for safety, protect your hearing.

On any amplified ear muffs, buy at walley world, the gray soft sheet of foam wall air conditioner filter and cut bigger to adapt to go over the mics on the head set. Use 2 or 3 drops of super glue around the mics to hold in place the extra wind screen that you just made. That will get rid of most of the wind sound that is annoying. Going to try that. Thanks

Ok after some research and this forums opinions I think I’m just gonna tell him to go get some real deal hearing aids from the dr. I hope the "real deal" have improved. I had a pair that cost $5000 and they didn't last 2 years. Never get them wet, don't sweat while wearing them, and make sure the warranty is more than 1 year. I had so many problems that I went to the Walkers and have never looked back.
