citrastrip works good. Glob it on and wrap the painted parts tightly in a couple layers of aluminum foil then let it sit for a few days or weeks depending on how good the paint’s adhesion seems. Worth corking the barrel to keep crap out of the inside. Be ready to clean well and dry the metal for refinishing cause it could flash rust.

Take it apart and bead blast it since your gone cerakote it anyway Yep. Quick and easy fix. You can soda blast the wood but it will degrade any checkering.

I wouldn't worry about it...if you're gonna have it cerakoted, they are gonna abrasive blast it anyway. The paint will come off and save you the hassle.
