Yep..... These are the people that the everyone is fully supporting. There bad people on both sides of this Russia/Ukraine insanity and a lot of good people in the middle.

NONE of this would be happening under Trump.

Ukraine has a whole regiment of Nazi's fighting for them. Some billionaire mayor of a Ukrainian city funds the entire regiment. They've been fighting in the eastern contested regions since 2014. Regardless of Putin's many faults, these are the Nazis he's been bitchin' about through this whole invasion and the ones he wants "purged" from Ukraine.

This is what people were talking about when they came up with sayings like this:

"Politics makes strange bedfellows."

and

"The enemy of my enemy is my friend."

Most people don't realize that this whole Nazi thing in Ukraine didn't just happen overnight. Over 80,000 Ukrainians volunteered to serve in the German Wehrmacht during WWII. The Germans created an entire Waffen SS division of Ukrainians that fought in WWII.

So yes... The Ukrainians have a history of Nazism.

They still celebrate it today.

I've just started to catch up on some of this. I had not stayed up on it.

There is a lot of propaganda going around about "Nazis" in Ukraine.

Let me address that:

1. There are probably a few thousand Nazi type men in Ukraine - out of a country of 44 Million people and a diaspora of 10 Million more.

2. There are literally hundreds of thousands of similar Nazi type men in Russia. Russia has the largest number of such types in the entire world, and this is well documented.

3. In point of fact, Vladimir Putin has turned his country into a Fascist Nazi police state, and his entire war against Ukraine is Naziesque and genocidal. The "Z" symbol has been literally turned into cult like Swastika worship symbol of blind obedience to the dictatorship of Putin. More on this later.

4. There are thousands of such type men in the U.S. The KKK still exists in this country. And the KKK used to have MILLIONS of members. The KKK was Nazi type organization.

5. In Ukraine the few thousand "Nazi" type guys have no political power. They do not hold any public offices. They do not commit crimes like theft, robbery, etc. They are law abiding citizens - who are *obsessed* with defending Ukraine from Russian aggression. That is all they do in Ukraine - man the front lines in certain places, most notably in besieged Mariupol - speaking of the Azov Battalion (which Irish mentioned as some kind of "Nazi regiment"). There is only about 1000 men in AB. Only half of that group would be what we refer to as "Nazis". Again - the main point is that they hold no political power in Ukraine, they are not criminals, they don't really even recruit or proselytize, and 100% of their activity is being aimed at preventing a Russian takeover of their country. They fight like mad men against Russian forces. So they are tolerated.

What you guys are looking at is internet PROPAGANDA. Aimed to deceive you into being pro Russia and anti Ukraine.

About past Ukrainian history that some pro Fascist Russia folks like to always bring up and which is irrelevant to CURRENT HISTORY pertaining to *some* (less then one tenth of 1%) Ukrainians aligning with the Nazi army in WW2:

The Russian Communists did not conquer all of Ukraine until the early stages of WW2 - when Hitler and Stalin divided up Europe pursuant to the infamous Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact. The Russians started WW2 WITH the Germans in 1939 with the Russians invading and conquering parts of Finland, the three Baltic countries, east Poland (divided with Hitler), West Ukraine and Moldova. The Ukrainians in West Ukraine hated the Russians for this, as all the Ukrainians had resisted Russian Communism from the very beginning of the Bolshevik USSR.

So, when the Nazis invaded Ukraine in 1941 as part of Operation Barbarosa SOME Ukrainians initially thought they were being liberated from the brutal mass murdering Russians. And some joined the Nazi army via their own battalions - to fight Russian Communists to liberate Ukraine. OR SO THEY THOUGHT. They did not know exactly what German Naziism was as it was still relatively a new thing in the world, and they thought that it was all about defeating the Communists. Little did they know at first that it was also about genociding Ukraine so that the Germans would have large vast new "living space" - "lebensraum" as the Germans called it. The German plan was ,expressly, to kill half the Ukrainian population and to enslave the rest.

When the relatively small number of Ukrainians who joined the formation of battalions for the Nazis saw what was happening - the large majority abandoned support for the Nazis as the Germans were completely destroying their country and mass murdering their people (Germans murdered 4-5 Million Ukrainian civilians)(4 Million died fighting in the Red Army against the Nazis). THEN they became partisan fighters *against* the Nazis for the rest of the war. They and the many other Ukrainians men waged one of the largest partisan wars fought against the Germans in WW2.

So, as they say, "THAT is the rest of the story."

Another point, mentioned above: anyone can go back in time and find fault with any people, nation, tribe, tongue, etc. We have a terrible past history in this country that is infinitely worse then the misled Ukrainian men who joined the Nazis at the beginning of Operation Barbarosa. The U.S. held millions of slaves and genocided the American Indians.

Every country has a history. Some good and some bad. Most countries have slowly developed for the better over time.
Some haven't - like Putin's Russia.
