Wanting to install a recessed trolling motor tray and looking for opinions if you have/had one. If you've had one would want one on another boat?

They are easy to install and come with a template. My current boat came with it but I’ve done a few with no issues.

IF you havent already fished out of someones boat with one( which m sure you have) i advise on doing so. I may be the one person in this topic that isnt a fan of the recess trays.

Couple of boats I've fished out of that had them, I didn't like them

I'm admittedly old school, but, at 73, I still use a bow mount hand control. Never could stand a foot control trolling motor. I do see how the recessed pedal may be more comfortable, just isn't for me.

I had my boat about 10 years before I put one in it. If you fish a few hours at a time I don't think you would tell the difference.
With all day trips or rough water it is worth it In my opinion. I can tell the difference in my back at the end of a long day.

For sure makes a difference on your back.

I don't like them at all. Feels unatural.

It took some getting used to for me but once I did I really like it.

I sure wish my boat had one.gets old having a raised leg to run trolling motor.once I put in a pedestal butt seat it helped alot but if I buy another trolling motor I'll definitely be looking at hand controlled stick steer type trolling motor
