Anyone know the worth of an M1 Garand made in 1945 for the Navy? I also posted this in the Guns forum but figured more people would see it in this forum! Thanks in advance.

Supposedly they changed the barrel from .30 caliber to another barrel back then because ammo was too expensive. You know anything about that?

Changed it from a 30-06 to a chrome lined 7.62XS1 barrel for Navy use.

It's probably the 308 navy garand.therrs a ton of info on internet.its insane how popular garands are and people restoring them back to close as possible to original manufacturer.if it's 1945 that will be considered ww2 and add value. You can look up the serial number and tell when it was made and everything. There's alot of info that will tell you if the barrel matches the gun and all about the proof mark stamps I got a 30 carbine Rockola , got a Web site that will help with that
