I’ve seen several Troy barrel stamped pistols .

Looking for a Troy AL barrel stamped KIMBER rifle IN 7mm08 or 30-06.

Any idea if they are in production yet?

Moved headquarters there in or around 2018. Already in production for a few years.

I think they were producing the rifles before they moved into the headquarters.

As far as I know. . .The only Troy, AL stamped rifles from Kimber thus far have been the 1000 gun limited run 6.5Creed.

Makes me wonder if it isn't connected to the same facility who did the run of Steyr pro-hunters from Troy. Also, weren't there some pro-hunter's from Bessemer ?

Pretty sure I've got a pro hunter that is stamped Trussville, but my understanding is it's b/c that's where they were imported thru at the time. I could have completely made that up in my head though, so I'll look next time I open the safe up.

I don't remember there being any Steyr rifles being from Troy. I do, however, remember some from Trussville.

They're USA based in Bessemer now, and have been for several years. Not sure if there were any Bessemer stamped Pro-Hunters, though.

Steyr rifles are imported. I do think someone around Troy imported a run of them. There was definitely some imported through a company in Trussville I have one of those.

No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

Rumor is they’re concentrating on handguns, Montana stock maker is no longer a source and they’re hunting a new producer, and even the Hunter is an afterthought.

Good luck to Kimber in Alabama but we’ll probably not have a 2nd one. But it’s like Ford vs Chevy. Everybody has a bad experience with one causing them to gravitate to the other.

Who was their source for the Montana stocks? I've noticed that I haven't seen a new Montana for sale in a while.

IIRC, Melvin Forbes helped with the design of that stock. They don't fit me well, but it's a very good synthetic stock, far better than other production rifles and on par with a McMillan or Manners.

They direct and soak up recoil VERY well….just like Melvin’s. When I can shoot a sub 6# 308 without issues for 20+ rounds, after having a complete shoulder rebuild? That’s rare. Recoil isn’t a huge issue for me….unless it’s repeated a lot….which is many folks without shoulder issues, too. For hunting, it’s incredibly mild considering the package it’s in. I’ve got a Brown Precision to get fitted to a mountain rifle that I’d like to compare later. I wish Bansner would pick up that slack.

I am a fan of the Montana stock as well. I'm anti Monte Carlo anyhow.
