That looks awesome. Do you do any kind of cleaning before you boil them? I've never cooked crabs.

Looks good
I’ve been wanting to do that, watched a YouTube vid of how to properly eat them. It was informative

Any issues getting season into the crabs? I’ve been told that but didn’t know if was a thing

You just have to let ‘em soak longer if you want spicier crabs.

Fortunately for me, the company I work for has a location on the water and we keep some traps out most of the time.

Nope!! Y’all can have everyone of those things. I’ll never eat another one and will smash everyone I can get my hands on. Glad y’all enjoyed them.

That’s the penis I think you’re referring to.

Dead man’s fingers I’ve heard of and googled cause I had no clue. It’s the lungs and taste terrible.

When I was growing up and dad wasn’t working we’d go shrimping all the time. It was my job to deal with the crabs from the net to the burlap sack we’d put them in. Once we got home we had to boil them to eat or to clean for the meat. Sometimes this was 4-5 days a week.
When I started shrimping on my own the crabs were so plentiful it would take forever to get them out of the net. They would fall all over the boat and get under everything. They were just a pain in the arse but I could deal with all that.
Without going into detail I saw certain things with crabs all over them after the hurricanes and a few cases from work. This is the real reason I will never eat another crab in my lifetime.
Never said I wouldn’t eat Conecuh sausage. I have and it’s ok. It’s just not our smoked sausage.

SBS…fine looking meal…...next time you cook them try this out. While live knock the shells off them, clean the guts and deadman’s just like you do when you gonna eat them. Wash the cavity out good, a hose works best. Then boil them pre-cleaned. Flavor is incredible, mess is gone. Had a family friend teach me this 20 years ago, haven’t done it different since. They can be a little fiesty, so just throw them in a cooler with ice before you start cleaning them, which will calm them down and let you be able to handle them easier. I personally bust off their claws because I cook the bodies longer than the claws.
