At the office this morning. Hoping to get out of here by lunch and get an afternoon sit in. Goodluck to all fortunate enough to be in the woods this morning.

Saw 5 racks on one doe. Was about to cause death to the oldest one when a clown show started and me and the buck were both left scratching our heads. Some of the craziest stuff I’ve ever seen. I want to hear about this for sure. sounds like it's gonna be good

Had a buck chase a doe by me this am but it was too thick to even get a good look. The scrapes were all worked and I might have a pic or two on my old cameras. It’s starting for sure I for one am VERY curious what this weather does to them.
Everything woke turns to shucks

Saw 5 racks on one doe. Was about to cause death to the oldest one when a clown show started and me and the buck were both left scratching our heads. Some of the craziest stuff I’ve ever seen. I want to hear about this for sure. sounds like it's gonna be good Been hunting a 5-6 year old tall heavy 7 with an inside spread of about 10”. He’s tall and tight. HUGE body. Very cool deer that’s just a bull. He’s only showing up in one field and always at night, so I’ve been trying to figure out where he’s coming from in the evening and going to in the morning before daylight. I found two creek crossings that looked promising so I hunted there a few days ago and caught him slipping through a native prairie field headed to bed in some 5 year old pines. It was simply too thick for a shot then and it was 300+ yards. Not something I wanted to risk without a solid rest. Fast forward to this morning. I climbed up in my stand and immediately when I sat down I saw 3 racks at 300 yards in the prairie field. Most mornings I can catch whatever is in the food plot leaving to cross this prairie after daylight. I noticed instantaneously the buck I’m after was one of them. He was standing with a doe facing off with the other two bucks. I’m the next 40 minutes they didn’t move a total of 45 yards from that spot. She’d move a little, he’d follow, other bucks would stay off at a distance. I was simply watching and not trying to shoot at this point. While this is taking place a spike walks within 15 yards of me and don’t like something. He keeps looking up at my stand and me stomping, but not having a fit. After 2-3 minutes he’d had enough and decided to blow a time or two and bound off toward the rack fest I’d been watching. He literally goes 40 yards and forgets about me and slowly eases toward the other deer. At this point he had no idea they were even there. He’s just easing in that direction. About this time the doe decided to head my direction and big 7 is in toe behind her. I put my rifle on my rest, start getting ready and am just waiting on a broadside shot. He’s 350, 300, 250, closing. The doe is steadily coming. I flip off my safety when he gets inside 225 and I’m ready. Just need him to turn. That stupid spike barrels onto the scene like a freaking lovesick floppy eared hound dog without a care in the world. He runs that doe into the next county not even aware of that big buck, or at least doesn’t acknowledge him. Im sitting there thinking “what the heck”? The big buck is standing there “What the heck does he think he’s doing? This ain’t right. Does not even see that I outweigh him by 120 lbs?” The whole time he’s standing at an angle I have no shot. He finally cuts hard right to catch up to them and I had planned on him stopping in the lane I had open at 260 yards. He walked from where he was to the lane and as soon as he enters it I’m settling my crosshairs as he bolts toward that spike in rage and they jump the creek out of sight. 😂🤷🏼♂️
