Present in the woods. Foggy and warm.

Present here in some hardwoods. Been seeing a lot of movement back here. Maybe a big’un will mess up this foggy warm morning.

I am at it again but it’s beginning to wear on me a bit. Today is the 7th day in a row I’ve hunted both mornings and afternoons. So far I have seen deer every time out just haven’t pulled the trigger. Now I leave tomorrow and want some meat but it might be too late. If I don’t get one this morning prob won’t this afternoon unless it’s a giant cause gotta get camp cleaned up and leaving real early tomorrow morning.

Good morning and happy new years. Finally getting settled in a stand. Been sitting on a stump on the side of the road in a fresh cutover next to a bush watching 3 does eat in a little green strip we planted on the side of the road for an hour or better. I called myself glassing good witch my Binos before I dropped off the hill but of course about 75 yards from the bottom I spot em. The fog and slight breeze were in my favor so I just waited them out til they finally eased off. I had told myself I was meat hunting today but I guess not because I never raised the gun. Lots of tracks on the muddy road while walking in so maybe today will be a lucky day. Or they all moved last night or first thing this morning before daylight. Guess we will see.

Back in the hardwoods next to a bedding area. We’ve got a couple hot doe’s running around with bucks. GF had 7 different bucks chasing yesterday and couldn’t get the shot she wanted.

IN! Can’t see 100 yards. When I let the dog out deer started blowing at me on the front porch of the cabin. Should have climbed back in the bed with my wife.

Our place in Sumter has been desolate for 3 weeks. I just started seeing the first rubs this weekend.

Spike just made an appearance

I’ve seen 6 so far, two small bucks pushing does. Had a good 7pt show up yesterday and throughout the night so I’m hoping he slips up.

I moved location when the feeder I was hu ting didn’t go off at the set time. Went and checked it and there was the top of a corn bag jamming it up. Fixed the feeder didn’t make it another 20 yards and bumped an 8 point. Now I’m sitting in a ladder looking at a burnt up green field.

I generally don't hunt on Sunday, as I am usually at church but we were not having services today, due to the holiday, so I'm here. Feels a little strange but I'm going to try to enjoy the Lord's creation, on this beautiful first day of the new year.

Saw several early

Got down about 11 after not seeing anything and checked a few cameras. Bucks running the crap out of does yesterday during daylight and last night. Two new bucks showed up yesterday one for sure shooter and one I’m not sure about yet. Scrapes everywhere up and down the roads. Funny thing is the new shooter buck was in a greenfield at a feeder for 20 minutes at 345-405 pm cleaning up the corn 100 yards in front of the shooting house I was gonna take my youngest daughter to yesterday afternoon. But she didn’t wanna go. That’s how it usually works I reckon. So I’m back at it for the evening watching a logging road and a piss poor looking greenfield that it full of fresh tracks and scrapes.

I packed up and cleaned up, dropping my buck off at Clark’s in Aliceville and picking up my other one. Currently eating lunch at Jacks with my daughter. Gonna go home buy some minnows and crappie fish off of my dock and drink beer
