Big fan of the Nosler 120gr ballistic tip out of a 7-08. My ruger carbine shoots them submoa. They leave a massive blood trail.
My son shot a doe this year with an 80 gr Barnes TTSX out of a 243. It went maybe 30 feet. He got lucky.

Iāve always wanted to kill one with my bare hands. Jump out of the tree, wrestle him down and break his neck. I might be too old for that now. I have killed a few with a 308 through. So thereās that. Iāve actually had to kill one with a knife. Iāve killed a warehouse full of alligators with a knife and it never made me nervous but when I had to dispatch a buck with a knife, that look in the bucks eye, it was squirrely for sure

I did shoot a doe this year with the similar Barnes bullet in 300blk I donāt know where I hit her for sure but the whole chest cavity was jelly.

You should see what the 150 Grain TSX from a 308 does to a hog on a head or shoulder shot. Carnage.
If the crappy old 308 does this much damage, they ought to outlaw them for the Creed.

Anybody shoot these out of a 300 win mag? Wonder what grain bullet would do best on deer... They make them in 150,165,168 and 180 grains Not being a smart azz, but whatever your gun shoots best. Most threads here the comments are going one step down in weight from what you currently shoot i.e 165 to 150 for ttsx.

Reload a 130 grain in 300 win mag and let that big dog eat. Would not be a challenge to get 3500 out of it.

I shot the 130 ttsx out of my 308 for a few years. It killed deer fine and shot straight. I know I'll probably be in the minority for saying this, but I was never impressed with the blood it left on the ground. When I shot one with it, I'd better watch where he ran. And I never had one fall right there. I like the idea of the Barnes for less than perfect angles, but am still looking for MY perfect bullet in the 308. Tried the Partition for a year and now am trying the sst. I also have some Hornady interbonds waiting their turn. Were you double lunging it or shoulder shooting ?
