What is your children’s safety worth??? Why take chances???

High winds are after and before most bus times. It is on a day to extend to a three day weekend. My son would have more of a change getting in a car wreak driving at 16 than a buss in 10mph winds. Total joke. My son said it best - HSV School System and especially GHS is ran by a bunch of liberals. Probably in this book

With so many folks wanting to sue for any reason, imagine what would happen if a bus were to be overturned in a violent storm. Instant millionaires for the victims. It happens every day across America. We had 133 students absent today with the stomach virus and we still had school.

I have not ever driven a school bus and I agree we should never take a chance I just didn’t know tomorrow’s winds were going to be that risky. I personally believe this is the result of most things in our life that we have to do….. lawyers. It’s all about liability and lawsuits. If it wasn’t for ambulance chasing lawyers 80% of rules and paperwork in this country wouldn’t exist and we would be more free as a society

Things have changed for sure. My bus driver was a mean old black woman who drove long haul trucks in the summertime. Her CB handle was Brown Sugar. I'm pretty sure she could drive a school bus across the Alabama River if she had to. She would also stop the bus if she saw a good looking junk pile to dig through for stuff she could sell.

50 mph winds are enough to blow a school bus over which could easily injure children. It’s just not worth the risk and liability.

LOL, sounds like one of my old drivers , R.E. Powell . You caused trouble , he didn't bother the principal , he had a switch and would give you a few whacks! He'd stop the bus in afternoons and we'd get off and walk the fields arrowhead huntin'. I didn't want to hunt arrowheads , I wanted to get home and watch Batman.

Hard to time the storm perfectly for the bus rides the next day. E-learning is scheduled for this Friday in Madison Co School System. Hell they never have homework for the most part anyway. One day of e-learning ain't gonna set them back. They all ready back.
