Google incentive spirometer and it will explain but it’s to help with lung expansion to keep from getting pneumonia. Crucial with rib fxs. Also use ice and hug a pillow when you cough or sneeze

Need to do 10 repetitions every hour while awake. I’m surprised they didn’t give that education when they told you of the rib fx.

Best thing tht helped me was one of those back braces u see movers wearing I tightened it up on my ribs to keep them from popping in and out of place That’s not good to do, that’s essentially wrapping your ribs which they haven’t done in a very long time because it increases your chance of pneumonia. Decreases ability for deep inspiration.
