The TL stands are not for newbies to just to climb in, must learn them. Most hunters do not take time to mod their stand to make it a great stand. The options now days are getting better in climber choices, but some manufactures are going backwards. Some hunters like light weight stands. Weight don't matter to some because they will pull up to the tree on their ATV. Comfort don't matter sometimes because they will stand in the stand till 9:30 am and climb down. Different strokes for different hunters. A problem is where alpha males get in a pissing contest, my stand is better than yours or make fun of other stands that they never have used. All stands have pros and cons and are used in different ways....... I have found out that when I purchase a stand, I wait for improvements after the stand has been out for some time, and I still have to make modifications to make it useable, always. My requirements are 1) weight is less than 20 lbs. 2) must be adjustable to the tapper of a tree as you climb. 3) comfort is a must due to a bad back. 4) noise free to a point. What is funny, the two stands I have, on the u-tube videos show that these two stands are terrible. No stand is great out of the box, they still have flaws to you that you have to deal with and fix.
