Set up listening. Should have worn another layer. It's cold out here.
Good luck.

Last time I watched one strut across a county road and drag his wings on the pavement was in your area. Start calling, you never know. Those east central AL birds were the dumbest we ever hunted by far grin

Sat out today. Of course the best weather of the year and I didn't go. Gonna get back after it this week and weekend, weather permitting.

I killed one that flew to me across 231 in Elmore County. Had three fly Co Rd 19 down in Fleeta but they landed in a pasture in front of me and stayed out of range. It can be done. It's just another feature in the landscape for them.

#1 dead at 8:05. Found a loud mouth 2 year on a clear cut edge. Walked 3/4 of mile to get setup in an adjacent drain;125-ish yards from him. A little leaf scratching and soft hen yelps on the Houndstooth diaphragm brought him to killing range of my Merkel 20. Feels good after missing one last week.

Hunting with Tommy up here in Tuscaloosa. Little late but he’s got some birds and hopefully we’ll get some good video for his show.

Put my uncle on one and he missed him. The turkey gobbled good, but his hearing is so bad that he couldn't hear him. Old age eventually gets us all, and I am not far behind him.

Had to make a trip to the club after work to drop off some stuff for our meeting. Hear this guy not far from camp..got in close and did some calling. Didn’t take long for one to come in strutting. He wouldn’t give me a good shot and went over the ridge. I crawled up about 20 yards and yelped. Bam! He gobbled! I look to my left and I see 2 fans. I look to my right and see a third fan. All 3 are in range, but no shot at a head. Did some soft purrs, clucks, and leaf scratching and that’s all the one on the right could take. He took about 5 steps up the hill, strutted, gobbled, then messed up when he stuck that head up!! Loud mouthed 2 year old!
