Just got a new work truck. Will be hauling customer owned tooling. Think I need non skid bed and covering. I’ve never owned either. Only slick drop in liner and tool box.

I think a spray in liner and hard bed cover are in order. Suggestions on brand/vendor? How much should I expect to pay for each? Looking for sources in Hoover to Alabaster area.

Thanks

If you get it sprayed, make sure you prep before hand. Unless they say they’re gonna do it. I did not prep and had mine sprayed and it came upon a small spot. I thought they would prep but they didn’t.

There’s also some that they’ll tint to match paint.

Line X is the best option for a spray on liner. A tri fold hard cover will run about 1 K.

Thanks Cactus Buck. Will keep that in mind. I’ll make sure installer knows they are responsible for all prep

Truck is black so easy to match. Thanks AU338MAG. I’ve heard of Line X. Expect that’s what I’ll end up with.

Second on Line-X, and Diamondback makes a great cover also. Heavy gauge aluminum, couple of configuration options.

Do NOT by one of the hard covers that rolls up into a box at the front. Secure, but they leak something awful.

Look at Bedrug. Depending on what exactly you are hauling it may be the thing for non slip. I use mine like any other. Just have to pressure wash mud or blood out.

I'm a fan of a good quality , thick bed mat , regardless of if the bed has a spray in liner or not. I can't stand stuff sliding all over the bed. Just take them out every now and then , sweep the bed out and hose it down.

My problem with a bed mat is you get trash under there, in my case fertilizer or something and it rusts the bed out. But I'm not saying I've got a better solution for stuff sliding around I usually have enough junk in the back that's not a huge problem or I use one of those ratcheting cargo bars to secure things either against the tailgate or toolbox. LIke I said... I don't have a great solution.

I like Line-X as well. The more rubbery the liner the more I like it that way things don't slide. Get the UV stuff in it and it will look good for a long time.

I HATE a full hard bed cover that is rigid... they are the worst. You need one that retracts or folds. I don't have suggestions on brand my truck has to wear a toolbox so I use a soft cover that works with the box.

I've bought my last two folding hard covers at H&H and they installed it while I waited. Good quality and good service and I'll get my next one there when I get my next truck.

Central camper in ensley is the best place for bed liner and accessories around period. I’ve used them for thirty years on hundreds of trucks and never had a complaint

Pfft. I got that beat. I ordered the BedRug online and pointed the sandwich maker at it.

Linex has always been good in my trucks while I owned. Usually keep each truck about 6yrs.

Same here. Never cared for spray in bed liners but I suppose they have their place for some uses.

If you’re going to be using a forklift, spray in.

Thanks for all of the suggestions.

Called the shop in Ensley and their spray in liner was quite a bit more than Line X and they needed me to drive to ensley so they could measure bed and then order the cover. That didn’t work.

Line X was a bit cheaper out the door on spray in vs H&H, and also they and H&H were to the penny on the same RETRAX aluminum roll up cover.

H&H had just done a metal building for the company and gave us a small discount and that got the work. Install was 4+ hrs so I got to learn about Uber and Lyft.

Finished product was expensive but looks great and worked flawlessly today with delivering a heavy pallet of customer tooling. Gonna be traveling with this vehicle a bunch. Hope it lasts a long time.
