The last 2 mornings hens have intercepted the bird I was working and led him away. Heard plenty of gobbling. Both were pretty close and closing. Still gets the heart pumping and I've been doing this a long time

You would think they would be setting at this point, and most are. But there seems to still be a lot of hens going to them.

I saw a hen with 9 poults yesterday in Butler County. She ain't interested in a gobbler.

My buddies saw two different flocks in greenfields late this pm. 4 hens and a gobbler in each flock. These gobblers have been henned up all season and looks like they will be for the remainder of the season.

Yeah, they stayed that way through the whole season this year at our place. Usually find a lonesome gobbler somewhere, but they were slim pickings this year.
