A tom behind my house gave me the slip several times this year. Quit gobbling during the season. Wife and I were outside the other afternoon. A crow flew over and cawed turkey gobbles. Me and wife started walking towards it, walked about 100 yards from it. As we both stood there with shorts and t-shirts on, I said wth are we doing????

yeah. you know you're with a turkey hunter when everyone is at the park walking and a crow caws and some guys just stop! Kinda a reflex!

Takes me until about June to stop listening after crows, and hoping to hear a gobble when I’m outside at sunrise. Was a lot harder to do when I lived in the woods and was liable to hear one, now that I live in the big city it makes it a bit easier. Although I still hold out hope because my subdivision does back up to a large state park, that I’ve heard one gobble in one morning in the 3 springs I’ve lived here.
