Not sure what the problem is
Are having trouble getting them out or putting them in or are they backing out when you try to take the grips off ?

Over the years I've had problems with all three mentioned. Part of my handgun maintenance sequence is to remove the grips every time I clean the gun and clean and lube the grip screws. they can be a real pain to get out sometimes.

Very fine threads and only enough width for a few threads.some guns come with bushings for slim grips and some are standard.they are soft non heat treated metal and loctite in.

Chittum wood burl.very rare and expensive
Luckily I got a buddy deal on those.free !
Probably $250 set of grips on a $600 pistol.lol
Probably only time you'll see chittum wood burl in your life time
And chittum wood trees are indigenous to Alabama grows on in near limestone rock the burl wood comes from roots and is usually pulled up using heavy equipment from what he told me?idk but it's normally very expensive

I’ve “fooled” with more 1911’s than I can remember and have had my share or trouble with that same issue which is why I named off those particular issues

No it's taking them out.they sell a tool for it
It's one of those things that can turn into a headache but I had a set $175 grips and wanted the correct fitting bushing.that Springfield came with slim bushings and the grips where standard

There's a company called challis bushings that makes a great replacement bushings.different design that solve the issues with bushings.to bad they don't use this design on factory guns
