Anybody got any tips on how to locate stripers on lewis smith lake i have fished the lake alot over the years as i live in cullman always chasing spots and l/m but a few years ago i caught a couple stripe and i am hooked. Growing up fishing for bass, crappie and cats i really don't have any idea how to locate the stripe. Any help is appreciated.

Start by looking for ledges. Fish just off the ledge on the deep water side anywhere from 20 to 30 feet with shad, black salties or goldfish. Topwater works great til about mid-June. Fish topwater from daylight until sun up or on cloudy days. For some reason I never have any luck with top water when the sun is shining.

Brian, what sizes are you boating? Any particular colors seem to produce any better than others?
