I filled in my pool with red fill dirt. My question is if I put rye grass on it this winter will that make sodding next year harder? Should I just leave it dirt and sod next spring? I’m afraid the winter rains will wash it bad. Thanks

It’s still settling, I’ll wait till next spring to sod it, may have to add dirt to a corner or two. I got one extra load of dirt in my garden spot.

I wouldnt plant rye grass to fight for next few years. Id plant cereal rye before that. Id leave it and let it settle, let whatever comes up next spring come up and then hit it with gly , wait couple weeks then sod it. No telling whats been brought in seed wise in that dirt. Id rather fight it as dirt than fight it after ive put down sod. Id reccomend looking into z52 zoysia. I have some at my property and rest is bermuda. The bermuda can be knee high and the z52 ankle hi.
