This will be interesting to see how it plays out. UAW is striking at ZF, who apparently makes front axles for Mercedes. Is this the UAW attempting to exert control over a non-union manufacturer?
Side question… Is ZF the same company that use to make boat transmissions? Just wondering as I had a ZF transmission in an inboard Mako.

I wouldn’t doubt that it wasn’t the same zf. They’ve been involved in power transmission (as well as many other things) for a long time. They provide some sort of component to almost every oem automotive manufacturer. Very big player.

The number of striking ZF workers is being grossly exaggerated by the media. It has not and will not affect the production at Mercedes.

I have the ZF transmission in my Ram 1500 and it's the best transmission I have ever had in a vehicle.

The media and the unions all work for the same people. Just more of the same propaganda.

The article I read said that it would not immediately effect Mercedes, but Mercedes was monitoring. Article was a little vague as to what specific products, supply chain, would be effected by the strike.
Agree that items are sensationalized for media…

They’re UAW members. They just don’t have near the numbers the media is reporting. Not enough to impact Mercedes production.
