So Sunday morning my Apple Watch woke me up (I wear it to bed) at 5am saying I was in a-fib. I shrugged it off and fed and let the dogs out, but then couldn't catch my breath so I laid back down. Laying there for close to an hour I couldn't catch my breath or get comfortable - watch kept saying my heart rate was over 140 pushing 150's at times, and kept alerting to afib. I woke the wife up and showed her and told her to bring me to the ER. Keep in mind I have zero heart issues or history......felt like pure hell while she drove me to the ER and sure enough they said I was in afib. Took them about 5 hours to get my rhythm back to normal and stayed the night. Feel like a million bucks now and perfectly normal. They couldn't find a cause to make me go out of rhythm.
Technology -eh?
Stuck out of work now for 4 weeks per the company doctor until my cardiologist doc follow up. Looks like I'll be "working from home" for a while.

That could very well be an early warning of something about to happen Do not neglect to see your cardiologist

Its good that your watch told you there was a serious problem, now you have to figure out what triggered it. Stress, diet, etc...

Glad to hear that you are better. That's interesting about the Apple Watch. Girl on YouTube, Wanderlust or something, she's a hiker, had similar and had to get "rescued" while out on a hike. I don't wear mine to bed but I have been very happy with the watch.
Enjoy that time off if you can.

Lay off the caffeine.
Surprised you can't work for a month. I am sure they have you on some new meds that should help till your follow-up. Glad you are back in normal rhythm.

The Apple watch also has fall detection. I have fell several times while surveying and it will ask if I am OK. I believe it dials 911 if you do not respond.

Years after my heart attack I come down with afib....... I deal with the scare that an afib attack can strike me at any time any day..... I'm being treated for it with meds.... no ablation or shock treatment.... I drank three beers during mardi gras three years ago and later that night I couldn't breathe well when laying on my left side....I 'd lay on my right side and I could breathe much better... I go to the hospital two nights later ,, when I walked 20 ft or so I was about to collapse and out of breathe,,,, I spend two nights in the ER and then get placed in a private room for a few more days till Doctors are satisfied I'm in the clear.... Since then I've been fortunate no afib attacks.... the thing that bothers me is I could be having an afib attack and unless my breathing is uneasy I wouldn't really know it's happening....
Doctor says....No more alcohol ...period,,, not even a sip.... says thats most likely what caused it on that particular day... don't spare a moment any time it strikes you again....... I've been told besides having another heart attack a stroke can follow.... I'm doing entresto, carveidilol , atorvastatin, low dose aspirin for my heart meds,,,, Jardiance and ozempic I'm told are also good for my heart besides treating my diabetic situation...
Don't hesitate get to the ER if afib hits you again.... don't think let me see if it'll subside... get to the hospital asap...

My wife has Afib issues. She had an Ablasion about a year ago and had no issues until a couple weeks ago. Her Cardiologist wants her to wear a heart monitor for 30 days again. Her Apple Watch also alerted her that her heart rate was 160-170 and BP was pretty high also.

One time my dog was attacking my other dog and when I reached down to smack her off the other dog the watch thought I fell and asked if I wanted it to call 911! LOL!

I have had AFIB for years and didn't know it. 1 glass of red wine, fried food, too much food, not staying hydrated, stress, being over weigh , too much coffee, too much alcohol. The list is endless. I spent 10 days in ICU before I had a cardio inversion. That fixed me for about 2 years. I had an ablation where 3 nerves were blocked in 2018. After the procedure it took about 5 days for my heart rate to come down to normal. I went on a stick diet, went to 4 small meals a day, lost 50 lbs. gave up alcohol, coffee. I sold my business and retired. Even with all I do to take care, I still have a problem from time to time. I never know what is going to trigger it. I have a program on my phone that checks my heart rate and I keep an oximeter by my bed. I am 76 I have been dealing with this mess a long time.
