Im in the middle of building one. 6×8, sliding windows, insulated, metal outside, wood inside. I reckon ill have $250 or so in it, out of pocket, by the time im done, and some trading around for materials needed. I realize this probably isnt possible for everyone but its the best way for us. Im not a fan of all the plastc but thats probably the best way to go for some. We live about 5min away from where im building, that helps. Also, i have access to cheap wood and bartering fr metal, that surely helps to cut cost. By the time we get done, we will have a really nice shooting house we can be comfortable sitting in and will last a very long time.

Check out John Mcalpine from whitetail and property solutions llc if you in southwest bama…he’s the best price I’ve seen of pressure treated wood builds. Im planning on buying two next season from him. I would this year but he’s pushing out two food plots for me with a dozier/Mulcher and it’s not in the budget to do it all this year

Metal platform with ground blind I have a friend who owns a construction business. He gives me his old scaffold that isnt up to date (for his insurance). Set those out, lay three 4x4s across and set house on top of that. I make the 4x4s a little long so there is a "porch" at the door. I also use metal extension ladders on them. The same friend will give me one if it gets damaged and I just cut the bad part off and bolt it to the 4x4. I use T posts on each leg of the scaffold and bolt the house down.
I love my country, but don't trust my government.
