on lay. We stayed at our place for the entire weekend. Decided not to fish any of the saturday tourneys. (spent to much on food, and goodies for the weekend) Got out in time to beat the mineral springs tourney traffic. We put multiple 4lb. + fish in the boat. It stayed cloudy all day, and the big boys were eating top water. Never caught two fish in the same place. We'd run and hit back water areas here and there and find a fish. Absolutely no small bites. I was kind of kicking myself for not fishin a tourney, but that's how it goes. Best day in terms of weight i've ever had on lay. No doubt my buddy and I could have weighed in a little over 20lbs.

I fished Lay Saturday... Only got 1 topwater bite all day. I figured with the cloud cover and all we would have killed them swimmin' jigs and such We managed a little over 15 lbs. on the stick. Congrats on your day Wish I'd have been where you were.

We've been having a ton of success on Rapala silver F-9 top water lures. I went to bass pro, bought different ones by different manufacturers, but they generally looked the same.
Fish didn't want anything but the silver rapala.
I live near lay, but not inclined to go out on the water too much with a 14 foot jon boat.
We've just been pond hopping.
Character is not developed in moments of temptation and trial. That is when it is intended to be used.

buzzbait was the ticket for us. i tried to throw a frog all morning, with only one short strike. After the second 4 lber. my partner caught i switched. We got on a windy bank and boated to more good ones with a swim jig. those were the only two jig fish we caught. We held the big ones in the livewell for a while to see what we could put together. they were throwing up big crawfish, so they should be eating a swim jig.
