I got lucky and got one from Larry's at their Ruger days sale... they only got 1 in 300blk in and I snatched it up

Already have 300blk in AR and some loads worked up for it so would prefer that caliber. Seems they are hard to get ahold of for sure.

AU7mm08 - glad you bought that one. I could kick myself for not buying a cz back when they were cheap, and I keep looking at that little Ruger as a tractor gun. Glad I don't have to look at that listing any more.
Used to be a lifeguard, until that blue kid got me fired.

Don’t be scared of the.223. It will kill a deer and ammunition is readily available.

I bought a detachable mag Ruger Ranch in 7.62X39 and had problems with the mini 30 mag they use smoothly feeding. The mag does not anchor in the front on a pin like it does in the mini 30. Tried the AR mag conversion and it works better but still not smooth. Otherwise, love it and a Very accurate rifle with ballistics similar to a 30-30.

Two of the three Ruger mags I have lock up tight/right. I’ve never even tried the third. The gun or the mags are likely out of spec in some way. A bolt gun feeding from an AR style mag is going to be rougher to cycle than other types of feed systems, just due to the pickup/friction from the AR mag design. Running them fast as possible is the way.
