Everyone of us would enjoy a $9000.00 Rigby highlander but most of us are stuck in a sub 1K or less market. How our Great grandad killed deer with those sorry no count Winchester/Marlin 30/30s or Krags or '03 Springfields is not a mystery. Today's scopes and super bullets make us far more deadly. In order to stay in business we have cheap built rifles in calibers that are no better than Hollands Super 30. Page O'Connor Wooters Keith Carmichael Waters Weatherby would just shake their heads at us and call us names. Yes fiberglass and stainless steel aren't soulful but the engineering makes them pretty darn accurate. I'm certain everyone will totally agree with me especially when I add in the caveat that I'm excluding .243's (I'm guessing Goatkiller or AU 338 disagree first.)

Back in 1976 my first 40 hour pay check ,,, bring home pay was $87and change
First shotgun that i bought was a S&W 916T paid right at a 100 for it
First marlin 30-30 was right at 100 .
Since then I've had many different ones. I've had only 2 scope/gun that was a little over $1,000 and one pistol .
I see very little need for premium bullets or did I like core locs
I've killed well over 600 deer . I really see no advantage in owning a $9,000 rifle or the most expensive ammo. But hey they damn nice to have.
