For me the gatherings of friends and family and the enjoyment of just being together. Realizing those that are gone and what it really means. The gifts were just incidentals and food related seasonings and hot sauces.

Cajun Classic aluminum roaster. Nice. I'm gonna have to get another, wife been done took mine over 🫤 She let's me borrow it every now & then 😆 What’s that roasted aluminum taste like? How long you need to cook it and is it low and slow or turbo style cooking. No taste. Just street cred when cajun cooking

For me the gatherings of friends and family and the enjoyment of just being together. Realizing those that are gone and what it really means. The gifts were just incidentals and food related seasonings and hot sauces. I know this feeling all too well. Parents aren’t with me anymore and I miss all the great times we had at Christmas. Both of my parents loved Christmas because as kids they were so poor they never had a good Christmas. We simply place too much emphasis on the things we get, not the love we have for all those that are gone. I would give everything I own to have one more Christmas morning with my mother and dadd. God knows I miss them so much this time of year.
I can't stand a thief.

Time with family is the best gift. Also got a great book about the Lewis & Clark expedition and a getaway trip to see U2 at the Sphere in Vegas.
Heck yeah! We were in Vegas in May and that Sphere is the 8th wonder of the world. The clips I’ve see from the U2 performances are incredible! When u going out there? Incredible for what we’ve heard. Friends have been there for several events. Quick trip in February. Looking forward to it, for sure. Should be great. Also going to Lotus of Siam for lunch, one of my favorite restaurants. Not sure yet about breakfast but considering Cafe Lux and a couple of other spots.

Got a nice Sig Sauer Red Dot scope for my Turkey shotgun plus a mount. Enjoyed giving gifts to my four teenage grandkids. When in doubt I put cash in their Venmo accounts.

Well... Irish Jr. realized that the Polk Audio speakers he bought is were not self powered, so he took us to Best Buy in Chattanooga and added a Sony 100 watt stereo receiver to our Christmas gifts. We got the speakers and receiver hooked up and set-up in the cabin yesterday and got the whole set-up hooked up to the TV audio and via Bluetooth, and let's just say that the cabin is like a studio now. The sound is amazing here. Not only that, but he's been able to stay 2 whole weeks with us this year, plus we got to go see his sister that seems to be doing well despite her years of drug and alcohol problems. She has a good job, a nice little apartment that she furnished and decorated herself by going to yard sales, thrift stores and Facebook market place and the refinishing the furniture as needed. Most importantly she is self-sufficient, which at one point was more than I ever thought we could ask for. Pics from her place on our Christmas day visit. It ain't much to look at, but if you knew of her struggles with drugs, alcohol and eating disorders, it's a sure enough Christmas Miracle. She's been working full time in a Chevrolet dealership for a year, and wants to go to tech school to become a GM Certified mechanic. She's no tomboy, but she is very detail oriented and a very strong determined young woman. So I can see her doing it. ![[Linked Image]](https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53426667465_07efd467ea_4k.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53426667060_9a3338eb57_4k.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53426567979_881be7181c_4k.jpg)

It certainly was a blessing. We all almost cried. Everyone in the family has been pulling for her to dig herself out of the hole that she had created.
