Someone told me that I could fill out the app, and get the duratouch replaced on my A5 if it was sticky, I was wondering if any of you have ever done it?

On the app it states "PLEASE RETURN THE ENTIRE FIREARM including magazines, magazine caps, etc. Do not return individual parts or components only. All aftermarket accessories, such as choke tubes, slings, scopes, aftermarket sights, etc need to be removed. Also do not send gun cases. We will not be responsible for damaged or lost accessories"


I had in my mind to ship mine in the A5 hard case it came in, however it stated do not send guncases.

Yes, I've done it. Shipped mine in a box. Took a few months to get it back.

I filled out the app and shipped mine a couple of weeks ago. I put mine back in it’s hard case and then packed it in a used box from the local gun store.

I've got the Gold 12 turkey edition and mine started doing that. I took a wet rag and wiped all of that shucks off, it didn't take long because it was only on the stock. Now it's good as new, I wasn't about to send my gun in for something I could fix.

I would call browning first. They only honor the repair for x amount of time. I’m not sure if it is based on serial number or model or what though. I was told to wait initially by the service rep until after turkey season bc they were backed up. Did so and they sent it back the day after it arrived. I even had that I was told to wait in an email and was able to talk to same service rep who told me to wait. Said there was nothing he could do that they didn’t know that was coming (apparently the age suddenly became a way for them to get out of fixing their shitty product). This was years ago now back when duratouch was fairly new. Fk em… I’ll never spend another dime with them. I sold mine bc I got angry all over again every time I picked it up.

I sent back a Winchester Super X 3 with Duratouch. Not real pleased with the stock it came back with. It is a white plastic stock that is painted camo. I paid a premium for the duratouch stock and ended up with a cheap feeling painted stock.

I sent a Browning A5 with Duratouch back a few years ago. I bought the gun at Bass Pro so I took it back there. Bass Pro handled shipping it where it gets repaired at and I am pretty sure it was not Browning that repaired it. I believe it was a company contracted by Browning that repaired it. It took a few months to get it back but it was worth the wait.

I just got off the phone with them. you won't be getting your case back. She said to put it in a cardboard box and bubble wrap it.

Hate to hear this since I gave a A5 for a Christmas Gift. One I gave was a Wicked Wing. Hope that makes a difference.

Yeah I had a bar 7mm that I sent after this past deer season, they redone it in mossy oak dna country. It looks really good.

I sent a BAR in that I've since sold. They fixed the "stickiness" but it's no longer a duratouch, just a smooth to the feel stock.

If you don't want to deal with the shipping, the wait and not know what you will get back; a friend of mine had his sticky Sako stock cleaned and dipped by a shop in Birmingham. Came out very nice and was not very expensive.

I sent an Xbolt, and a Maxus back for that. Both came back like new.

I have printed off all the instructions I just got to find a box and find a UPS store. I guess.

Not sure a UPS Store will accept it; may have to go to hub.

Mine went through the UPS Store without any hiccups.

Did you tell them it was a gun?
